Improve the temperature in your home or building by mixing Koolcoat Radiant Barrier Paint Additive with ordinary paint for just pennies per gallon!

Radiant Barrier Insulation

Introducing…

KOOLCOAT Radiant Barrier Paint Additive

Transform your ordinary paint into an Energy Saving, Thermal Blocking Coating that anyone can apply.

Koolcoat in atticUsing technology developed by NASA in the 1950′s to maintain astronauts temperature inside their space suits on space walks, this revolutionary radiant barrier paint additive is an inexpensive and easy-to-use radiant barrier material now available to the general public.

KOOLCOAT’s non-toxic, chemically stable ceramic microspheres ( glass bubbles) mixed with any paint can effectively block up to 97% of harmful UV Rays. KOOLCOAT can be applied to the exterior and interior of your building to PROTECT it from the radiant heat of the sun.  The increased radiant barrier properties of Koolcoat lowers energy bills and, as an added bonus, KOOLCOAT insulates from sound as well!

  • KOOLCOAT can be blended with all paints – water, oil or resin based
  • KOOLCOAT Radiant Barrier paint additive LOWERS ENERGY COSTS (we have seen up to 50%)
  • KOOLCOAT Insulates sound as well as heat if applied correctly
  • KOOLCOAT Radiant Barrier Paint reflects up to 98% of harmful UV rays
  • The reflective properties of KOOLCOAT prevents the sun’s energy (both visible and infrared spectrums) from being absorbed, thereby reducing surface temperatures. Exterior surfaces coated with Koolcoat will maintain the same temperature as the surrounding air temperature.
  • KoolCoat can be sprayed, rolled or brushed
  • Can be applied to any surface you would ordinarily paint

How Koolcoat Works

In the 1980’s, two chemists, Rohm and Haas, working with 3M Company developed a paint that would have similar insulating values to the Space Shuttle’s ceramic coatings. Many of the same engineers that worked on the Space Shuttle technology were consulted to develop this paint. The final product has been sold and applied in Europe since the late 80’s.

This super paint is a flexible acrylic based paint mixed with a blended formula of ceramics. These bubbles act as an efficient insulator. The bubbles are over sixty percent vacuum. Each bubble acts as a closed cell and in an applied coating (paint) creates a thermal reflective layer which reflects over 90% of the infrared heat radiation. Reflection of heat protects structures from wide temperature fluctuations, thereby reducing the thermal load to the structure. As the thermal load is lowered, air conditioners run more efficiently thus lowering energy costs.

Testimonials

Hi Chuck,

I am very happy with the roof job:

I used a large push broom and a mixture of soapy water with a small amount of bleach to scrub the tin. It was very effective and necessary, as a lot of dirt and pollen came off, but it was a big part of the over all labor. On my 800sq foot house, I divided the cleaning process over two days, with one day between the last rinse and the start of painting.
